Sara Hammel “Knowledge is power.” – Sir Francis Bacon Sara has been part of the AEG family since its beginnings in Iowa. Having faced her own challenges and barriers throughout the years, she is able to genuinely understand situations from the consumer’s perspective. She strives to help others in the way she wishes she had been supported in the past, believing that amazing things are possible when people have others who believe in them. Inspired by her father, who has always been her biggest cheerleader, Sara seeks to follow in his footsteps by sharing love, support, empathy, kindness, and understanding with those around her. Her work is rooted in a deep passion for serving underserved communities, including those who are incarcerated, undocumented, or otherwise marginalized. She's spent her career focused on expanding access to healthcare and support services for those who need it most. Anna Demsky is our Vice President Employment Services. She is an Independent Service Provider with 20 plus years of experience working in special education. Anna Demsky “Your smile is your logo, your personality is your business card, how you leave others feeling after having an experience with you becomes your trademark.” – Jay Danzie Anna Demsky has 20+ years of experience working in special education. She has spent the last 12 years of her career specializing in vocational education and transition for students with barriers to employment. Anna received her BA in Psychology from Humboldt State University; located just miles from the small town she grew up in. She believes the small town experience is what gives her the ability to think outside the box in creating job opportunities in rural areas. In her free time Anna enjoys reading, entertaining and road trips to her hometown and the beach. She loves spending time with her family and friends. Sandra Amundsen “I have a dream.” – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Sandra is a dedicated professional with a lifelong commitment to advocacy, education, and empowerment within the Deaf and hard of hearing community. Her career began in education, where she served as an American Sign Language (ASL) professor across a wide range of institutions, including community colleges, high schools, private schools, universities, and corporate environments. Through these roles, she cultivated a passion for fostering inclusive learning spaces and equipping students with the tools to communicate and connect across diverse communities. Sandra later transitioned into a new career path as a Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) counselor, where she spent seven years supporting individuals with disabilities as they navigated career development and employment opportunities. This experience deepened her understanding of systemic barriers and strengthened her commitment to advocacy-based support. In October of last year, she began her current role as an Employment Specialist focused on serving Deaf and hard of hearing consumers, where she continues to help individuals overcome obstacles and achieve their employment goals. Outside of her professional work, Sandra enjoys spending time in nature through hiking and walking, activities that bring balance and inspiration to her life. She is also currently writing a book that shares her personal journey, including her experiences with domestic violence, with the goal of completing it next year.
