Jose Garcia "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." – African Proverb Jose Garcia was born in Mexico and grew up in Pittsburg, California. He is a proud migrant and first-generation UCLA graduate with a double major in Chicano/a Studies and Spanish. His journey has been shaped by resilience, adaptability, and a commitment to growth. Jose has cultivated a diverse skill set, with experience spanning construction, remodeling, and painting, as well as photography and videography as a freelancer. His dedication to giving back and serving others led him to become a Spanish high school teacher and ELD counselor. A year ago, he transitioned his drive for service into workforce development, becoming an employment specialist. He now serves in the Bay Area as a regional manager for Advanced Employment Beyond his professional pursuits, Jose is deeply committed to community and personal development. He stays active through sports and is part of a thriving community running club with hundreds of members. He also enjoys going to the gym, playing pickleball and tennis, and trying new activities, while exploring new nature places and chasing sunsets. Denise Santora "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent" – Eleanor Roosevelt Denise is a dedicated and passionate advocate for individuals with unique abilities, bringing over 20 years of experience in providing direct support that empowers and uplifts her consumers. With a steadfast commitment to enhancing the lives of those she serves, Denise has honed her expertise in various critical areas, including job coaching, employability skills, resume building, and personalized mentorship. Denise believes that every individual possesses distinctive qualities that can be harnessed to achieve personal and professional success, and she is passionate about helping them realize this potential. In her off time she owns and operates a Cottage food Bakery specializing in custom cookies and other desserts. Mark is one of the founders of AEG, and became National Director for One on One Learning, which serves low income families, schools and school districts. Myra Sanchez "Never be discouraged from doing what is right, even when standing alone." – unknown Myra Sanchez is a dedicated professional who has been with AEG for over a year, where she enjoys supporting adults and students as they develop new skills, build confidence, and achieve their goals. She is passionate about helping others and finds great fulfillment in witnessing the growth and success of the ones she serves especially the students. Myra is married and the proud mother of four daughters. Her family is a central part of her life and continues to inspire her commitment to service and advocacy. In addition to her work with AEG, Myra is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work (MSW) degree and a Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential. She will graduate next Spring. Through her continued education, she hopes to further her career with AEG while bringing new knowledge, skills, and evidence-based practices to her work. Your AEG Employment Specialist will work closely with you to create a customized job plan so you can enter the workforce with confidence. Through Employment Services, clients build confidence and experience while learning specific job skills. GAIN EXPERIENCE BUILD SKILLS GAIN CONFIDENCE EMPLOYER REFERENCES EXPLORE CAREERS RECEIVE PAY & MANAGE FINANCES Section Title Employment Services Process Intake Clients who are referred to us by the DOR or another partner will be assigned an Employment Specialist (ES). The ES will contact the client via phone or email. This first meeting is approximately 1 hour long. The ES will take this time to get to know the client, his/her goals, and any accommodations necessary. Employment Prep Based on the goals set in the intake, the Employment Specialist (ES) will create a customized job plan to prepare the client for the traditional employment process. This includes creating a resume, cover letter, and learning how to apply and interview for jobs. Apply & Interview The assigned Employment Specialist (ES) will support clients in preparing and executing job applications and interviews using various techniques and skills based on the clients' needs. Job Placement After applying and interviewing for jobs, the client will be placed (hired) at a job site. They will begin their new role with the help and guidance of their Employment Specialist. Retention The client's assigned Employment Specialist (ES) will provide ongoing job coaching and support to ensure retention of their employment.

She holds a degree in psychology with a minor in education, a foundation that has fueled her passion for helping others. With a background that includes customer service, ABA therapy, and teaching, Chloe has always been committed to making a difference in the lives of those she serves. Chloe is committed to empowering others, ensuring they have the tools and confidence to achieve their goals and thrive in their chosen paths. With a heart for advocacy and a drive to make a positive impact, Chloe works to be a vital resource and ally for those navigating the complexities of employment and education.
