Myra is married and the proud mother of four daughters. Her family is a central part of her life and continues to inspire her commitment to service and advocacy. In addition to her work with AEG, Myra is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work (MSW) degree and a Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential. She will graduate next Spring. Isabella Demsky "If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you." Isabella grew up emerged in the world of Special Education helped by her mom in the classroom. Her first "job," job coaching was in 1st first grade where she took a classmate with a disability under her wing and helped him navigate the school system. She later used all of her elective periods from 7th to 12th grade working in the Special Education classes as a mentor. Based in Los Angeles, founded Study Smart Tutors Inc as a student at USC in 2008. In addition to his work at Study Smart Tutors and AEG, Jack serves as the board chair of the Youth Business Alliance and is a board member at Tzedek America and the ACT CA Council. Jill is one of the founders at AEG and has 36 years of experience working with special education. Jill Brookner “Trust the process!” In her role at AEG she brings her history of passion and advocacy for those with unique abilities with a reinforced commitment to employment equity and inclusive practices in the workplace. She holds an Ed.S. in Guidance and Counseling, a Master’s in Administration and Supervision, and a Bachelor’s of Science in Special Education. She brings 40 years of experience and advocacy in the special education field, in both the public and private sector. Jill was employed with Miami Dade County Public Schools for 36 years as a special education teacher, behavior management teacher, educational specialist, and instructional supervisor of programs for students with intellectual disabilities, physical impairments, assistive technology and transition services which serves approximately 12,000 transition-aged students with disabilities per year. Her team created inclusive and innovative transition programs throughout the county in locations such as Zoo Miami, Miami International Airport, Cities of Miami and Hialeah and Florida International University. Sandra Amundsen “I have a dream.” – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Sandra is a dedicated professional with a lifelong commitment to advocacy, education, and empowerment within the Deaf and hard of hearing community. Her career began in education, where she served as an American Sign Language (ASL) professor across a wide range of institutions, including community colleges, high schools, private schools, universities, and corporate environments. Through these roles, she cultivated a passion for fostering inclusive learning spaces and equipping students with the tools to communicate and connect across diverse communities. Sandra later transitioned into a new career path as a Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) counselor, where she spent seven years supporting individuals with disabilities as they navigated career development and employment opportunities. This experience deepened her understanding of systemic barriers and strengthened her commitment to advocacy-based support. In October of last year, she began her current role as an Employment Specialist focused on serving Deaf and hard of hearing consumers, where she continues to help individuals overcome obstacles and achieve their employment goals. Outside of her professional work, Sandra enjoys spending time in nature through hiking and walking, activities that bring balance and inspiration to her life. She is also currently writing a book that shares her personal journey, including her experiences with domestic violence, with the goal of completing it next year. Mark Mangrum “Everyone is an opportunity.” Born in Miami, Florida son of two college professors, education and serving the community was instilled at an early age. Graduate of Mars Hill College in adapted Physical education his career began as a teacher and quickly moved into administration. As the Dean at Killian Oaks Academy he gained 12 years of experience in parental support, student guidance and behavior management. Mark became National Director for One on One Learning, which serves low income families, schools and school districts. In 16 states across the nation with 2,100 employees, Mark helped grow One on One Learning from a garage company to a $7 million company. He is the owner of Smart Snacks USA for the past 11 years and Fitness Express for the last 14, Mr. Mangrum has run successful businesses both large and small servicing communities across the US.
